2013 Opel Adam

This is full review about 2013 Opel Adam. With the all-new ADAM, ais entering the fashion-led A-segment with a chic, small, urban car. The 2013 Opel Adam combines bold, powerful design with potential for almost unlimited personalization, making each ADAM totally unique. It also provides premium technologies from upper segments, including a new onboard infotainment system which integrates the owner's smartphone in the car (Android and Apple iOS) and thereby makes internet-based applications available in the cabin.

Measuring almost 3.70 meters in length (1.72 meters width excl. mirrors), the agile three-door is perfect for urban environments. Inside its cabin, the 2013 Opel Adam offers seating for four people who will benefit from its premium-inspired atmosphere and a high degree of roominess unusual for a small car. In the A-segment, Opel already offers the Agila which impresses with its practical strengths. Now the new sporty and elegant Opel ADAM targets especially trendy urban customers who are looking for a car that expresses their personal style. Experts predict the lifestyle-orientated sub-segment to grow steadily over the next years.

"The new 2013 Opel Adam offers lots of growth potential for our brand. We are very proud that our fashionable small car brings German engineering excellence to its segment," says Opel CEO Karl-Friedrich Stracke. "In fact, the ADAM is the only A-segment car that will be exclusively built in Germany. We are sure that it will get a fantastic reception in Paris at its world premiere in September:"

The 2013 Opel Adam will initially be offered with three efficient gasoline engines (1.2 l 51kW/70 hp, 1.4 l 64 kW/87 hp and 1.4 l 74/100 hp) combined with a five-speed manual transmission. All powertrains are available with an ecoFLEX technology pack including fuel-saving Start/Stop technology. Later on, a new generation small gasoline engine will make its premiere in the ADAM, featuring direct injection turbocharging for further enhanced efficiency and performance. This new engine will be combined with a completely new generation six-speed manual transmission.

Customize: "Almost unlimited" choices

2013 Opel Adam innovates and introduces a totally new trim approach. Rather than having the well-known trim hierarchies, customers can choose from three different highly individualized trim moods or worlds: JAM is unconventional, fashionable and colorful, GLAM offers a more elegant, refined and sophisticated setting and SLAM appeals to those with energetic and sporty attitudes. ADAM JAM, ADAM GLAM and ADAM SLAM: these three "mood" worlds set the stage for a virtually unlimited potential for personalization with a wide choice of exterior colors, three roof colors, different interior colors, decors and various headliners -including an LED lit "starlight" roof trim - and other premium inspired distinctive design elements.

Mark Adams, Opel Vice President, Design explains: "No other car in this segment can be personalized as much as the Opel ADAM because we are offering virtually unlimited exterior/interior color, fabric, decor and kit combination possibilities. It's unlikely our customers will see another car like theirs."

Select: Bold exterior with iconic silhouette and premium inspired interior

ADAM introduces Opel's award-winning philosophy of "sculptural artistry meets German precision" to the fashion-led A-segment. And unlike other rivals, Opel ADAM bucks the trend of retro-based design with a modern and bold look.

Opel ADAM's striking and unique "floating" roof which is visually disconnected from the body allows a perfect execution of a two-tone color combination. The car's name badge is - unlike with most other cars - placed at the end of the chrome "signature" window molding on the rear pillar, which adds to its unique appeal. In the wide front grille, the ADAM has the new wing-shaped chrome bar with the embossed Opel emblem as introduced in the new Astra line-up. On the flanks there are design cues such as the blade shape in the lower door and the characteristic crisp "shock wave" around the door handles known from the Astra GTC. The headlamps feature wing-shaped daytime running lights (DRL) typical for Opel. For the first time in the A-segment, both the headlamps and the taillights are available with state-of-the art energy-saving LED technology.

The interior design delivers what its upmarket exterior promises: style and premium inspired ambience in a remarkably spacious environment for a small car. With sculpted, harmonious surfaces and graceful flowing lines just like its bigger brand brothers Astra, Meriva and Insignia, the ADAM rounds off Opel´s brand promise in its latest and smallest declination. The round, chronograph-style instruments and chrome bezeled switches convey an aura of sporty precision.

Connect: With upscale equipment including smartphone integration

Opel ADAM is the first car with Opel's all-new state-of-the-art infotainment system that not only brings its owner's smartphone capabilities to the vehicle but also adds further value to them, offering even more convenience and flexibility than a conventional system. The new system is exclusive to the A-segment because it not only offers smartphone connectivity for Apple iOS software but is also compatible with Android operating systems.

The new infotainment system makes selected smartphone content including internet based applications such as GPS navigation available in the cabin. It collects the content and displays it on the seven-inch, high-resolution and full-color touch screen which also provides quick and intuitive access to various user friendly control-functions via five easy to navigate menus.

In addition, new media sources such as MP3 players, iPodsTM and tablets can be brought to the Opel ADAM thanks to BluetoothTM and USB connectivity. There is a plug-in outlet for music devices that do not use USB or BluetoothTM connections. Opel ADAM owners who wish to enjoy a video or personalized slide show, can do so when the car is stationary.

Activate: Upscale advanced technologies for the first time in the A-segment

2013 Opel Adam introduces many upscale and innovative technologies into the A-segment that can usually only be found in higher segments. For the first time it makes the new generation Advanced Park Assist (APA II) available. Drivers engage the system with a button on the dashboard and it tells them when they pass a parallel parking space large enough to accommodate the car. The system then automatically steers them into the parking space, with the driver just controlling the brake, clutch and gears. It always comes in combination with Side Blind Spot Alert (SBSA) which also uses ultrasonic sensors. Another first in the A-segment is the heated steering wheel which adds another premium touch to Opel ADAM's cabin.

Ride: Agile and crisp chassis with ESP standard on all ADAMs

Opel ADAM's bold stance is further emphasized by its broad footprint (front track: 1485 mm/ rear track: 1478 mm). Its chassis with a wheelbase of 2311 mm is geared towards maximum active safety and comfort. MacPherson struts with a sub-frame have been fitted to the front axle. The rear axle of the Opel ADAM features a torsion beam compound crank design. Wheel sizes range from 15" to 18", and cars that are specified with 17" or 18" rims come standard with a more responsive Sports chassis and steering feeling. The Opel ADAM's Electrical Power Steering (EPS) includes a dedicated CITY mode which at the flick of a switch increases power assistance at lower speeds - particularly useful for maneuvering. The comprehensive ESP of the latest generation is also standard in all ADAMs and comes complete with many useful sub-functions such as Hill Start Assist.

A high level of passive safety is ensured by an ultra-rigid passenger cell mainly made from high-strength steel. This is complemented by front, side and head curtain airbags as well as Dual Seat Belt Pre-tensioners at the front seats which offer additional knee and leg protection. Other safety features include two sets of ISOFIX points plus top tethers in order to easily and safely attach child seats on the 50:50 split foldable rear bench.

The all-new 2013 Opel Adam will be available to order after its official world premiere at the 2012 Paris Motor Show (September 29 - October 14, 2012). First cars will hit the showrooms in January 2013.

2013 Vauxhall Adam

This is full review about 2013 Vauxhall Adam. Vauxhall released the first official pictures of the new Vauxhall ADAM, heralding a sea-change in the fashion-led A-sector with an urban chic car that can be personalised in over a million different ways.

Using premium materials and design cues often found in the luxury sector, Vauxhall ADAM is a three-door, four-seater that will be unveiled at the 2012 Paris Motorshow, before appearing in UK showrooms early in 2013.

Designed by Brit, Mark Adams' team in Europe, ADAM incorporates a 'floating' roof which is visually disconnected from the body, making the use of two-tone colour schemes more impactful than ever before.

Classy, sophisticated and glamorous, Vauxhall ADAM retains design signatures from other Vauxhalls: the crisp line around the door handle (GTC), the wing-shaped chrome grille bar (new Astra) and the blade shape in the lower doors. It will also be the first car in the A-sector to have the option of LED daytime running lights.

But unlike other rivals in the segment, 2013 Vauxhall Adam bucks the trend for retro-based design with a fresh and bold look that will appeal to open-minded individuals who want to defy convention with a car that's distinctive and striking.

And it's those very customers that Vauxhall is targeting with Vauxhall ADAM's high degree of personalisation options. Available in three trims from launch - JAM (fashionable/colourful), GLAM (elegant/sophisticated) and SLAM (racy/sporty) - ADAM customers can effectively 'build' their own car.

There are almost unlimited visual combinations, with a wide variety of exterior colours - including two different roof colours - interior colours, equipment and materials. Customers can even choose their headlining, including an LED-lit starlight roof trim.

Mark Adams, Vauxhall/Opel's Vice President of Design, summed up what makes ADAM unique: "No other car in this segment can be individualised as much as ADAM because we are offering virtually unlimited exterior/interior colour, fabric and kit combination choices. It's very unlikely that you'll find two identical ADAMs out there."

Powertrains

Vauxhall ADAM will be offered with a choice of three efficient ecoFLEX four-cylinder petrol engines from launch: a 1.2-litre 70PS, plus two 1.4-litre engines with either 87PS or 100PS. All will be available with optional Start/Stop technology and will be mated to a five-speed manual gearbox.

Later on, ADAM will be the first car in Vauxhall's range to adopt the new-generation small petrol engine, featuring direct injection and forced induction, and an all-new six-speed gearbox.

Upscale equipment & smartphone connectivity

Unique to the A-segment is Vauxhall ADAM's new top-of-the-range infotainment system designed to support new media sources, including Bluetooth, as well as connectivity for smartphones with Android or Apple iOS software. This enables access to internet-based applications, including GPS navigation. The system uses a state-of-the-art seven-inch, full-colour touch screen display allowing quick access to a variety of on-board controls.

Round, mechanical clock-style instruments with chrome bezels mark a departure from those seen in other Vauxhalls, while ADAM customers can also opt for a heated steering wheel - another first in the class.

Advanced technology enhances safety and comfort

2013 Vauxhall Adam will break new ground in the A-segment, by offering technology normally only found in higher-end cars.

A prime example is the Advanced Park Assist II system, which will be an ADAM option never seen before in a Vauxhall production car. Drivers engage the system with a button on the dashboard and it tells them when they reach a parking space large enough to accommodate the car. The system then automatically steers them into the parking space, with the driver only needing to control the brake, clutch and gears. APA II uses ultrasonic sensors to work its magic, and always comes in combination with Side Blind Spot Alert (SBSA).

As with all Vauxhall's, ADAM uses the very latest safety technology. High-strength steel is used to make an ultra-rigid passenger cell. This is complemented by front, side and head curtain airbags, as well as dual seat belt pre-tensioners for front occupants which offer additional knee and leg protection. Other safety features include two sets of ISOFIX points to easily and safely attach child seats on the 50:50 split foldable rear bench.

Crisp ride and handling; ESP standard across range

Despite its compact dimensions of nearly 3.7 metres in length and 1.72 metres in width, Vauxhall ADAM's footprint is relatively broad, with front and rear tracks of 1485 and 1478mm respectively, and a wheelbase of 2311mm.

Front suspension is by MacPherson strut, with a compound crank system at the rear. Wheel sizes range from 16- to 18-inch, and cars that are specified with 17- or 18-inch rims come as standard with the lowered sports chassis. The latest generation ESP system is standard on all ADAMs, including a Hill Start Assist function.

Handling on urban roads is enhanced by a CITY mode, which increases the electronic power steering system's assistance at lower speeds.

Ordering/first deliveries

2013 Vauxhall Adam will be available to order after its official premiere at the 2012 Paris Motor Show in September, with the first cars reaching UK customers in January 2013. As with all Vauxhalls, ADAM comes with Lifetime Warranty, which covers first owners for the lifetime of the car, or up to 100,000 miles.

2013 Seat Mii Vibora Negra

This is full review about 2013 Seat Mii Vibora Negra. Within just one month of putting the SEAT Mii city car on sale in the UK, SEAT introduced the sensational Vibora Negra edition.

Available now, the Vibora Negra - which means black viper in Spanish - is the ultimate iteration of 2013 Seat Mii Vibora Negra. It showcases a complete range of personalisation accessories available for the car, and marks the beginning of a host of planned customisation packs.

The 2013 Seat Mii Vibora Negra packs plenty of visual punch as it is, but this new range of visual accessories takes it to a new level; the Vibora Negra pack transforms the Mii into one of the most striking, visually aggressive and sportiest city cars currently on sale, endowing it with the spirit of SEAT's most powerful FR and Cupra models.

The complete Vibora Negra pack is compatible with any Mii, from entry level S to range-topping Sport, and comprises:
  • Black Vibora Negra twin stripes (bonnet, roof and tailgate)
  • Black Vibora Negra side stripes
  • Black 14- or 15-inch alloy wheels
  • Black tailgate spoiler
  • Black side skirts
  • Black mirror caps
  • Black gloss gear knob
  • Black chequered dashboard decal

Each of the above items can be ordered individually, although a 10% discount applies when the pack is ordered complete, saving around £160.

The total cost of the Vibora Negra pack, including VAT and fitting, is £1,628 with 14-inch wheels equipped, or £1,740 with 15-inch wheels. It can only be bought from franchised SEAT dealerships.

Malcolm Allison, Aftersales Product Manager for SEAT UK, said: "The Vibora Negra pack brings out all the sporty characteristics of the SEAT Mii, and showcases the exciting customisation possibilities for the car in future.

"We created it to give buyers in the UK a break from the norm, and the chance to give their Mii a personal touch; the great thing about the Vibora Negra range is that each of the parts can be bought separately, so there's something for every budget.

"We started with the viper stripes because they're such a classic way to personalise a car, and we stuck with a black theme to evoke the stunning Ibiza Bocanegra.

"We've aimed the pack at younger buyers looking for ways to make their Mii more striking without breaking the bank. This is just the beginning, though - there are plenty more Mii personalisation packages in the pipeline, so there'll be huge scope for individualism, and something to suit everyone."

With the SEAT Mii having just gone on sale in the UK (18th June 2012), the quick availability of the Vibora Negra pack is a clear indication of SEAT's desire to make it the most desirable and distinctly sporty city car on the market.

The Vibora Negra pack, which is only available to UK buyers, comes hot on the heels of the dramatic Mii FR concept, shown at the 2012 Worthersee festival in Austria; the upgrades give buyers the tantalising opportunity to own a car with a marked visual similarity to that concept.

The 2013 Seat Mii Vibora Negra range begins at £7,845 RRP OTR for an entry-level S model, meaning a Vibora Negra can be bought for under £9,500.

2013 Audi SQ5 TDI

This is full review about 2013 Audi SQ5 TDI. The new 2013 Audi SQ5 TDI, which will appear on streets in late summer 2012 at a price of 58,500 euros, is the new top model of the Q5 model series and is also the first S model with a diesel engine in the history of Audi. The 3.0 TDI, charged by two turbochargers, produces no less than 230 kW (313 hp) in power and delivers an impressive 650 Nm (479.42 lb-ft) of torque between 1,450 and 2,800 rpm.

The V6 diesel, which generates power from 2,967 cc displacement, is designed as a twin-turbo unit; a flap joins the two turbochargers arranged in series. The cooling of the cylinder heads, control times and strokes of the intake camshafts, the pistons, their spray oil cooling and the piston rods have been adapted to the high-performance concept. The common rail system builds a pressure of up to 2,000 bar and can execute up to eight partial injections into the cylinders. A sound actuator in the exhaust system gives the twin-turbo-V6 a deep sonorous sound.

The 2013 Audi SQ5 TDI handles the sprint from zero to 100 km/h (62.14 mph) in 5.1 seconds, and its top speed is 250 km/h (155.34 mph). Its combined fuel consumption is only 7.2 liters per 100 km (32.67 US mpg) on average - a value that is also enabled by contributions from the thermal management, energy recovery and start-stop systems as well as the regulated oil pump. An eight-speed tiptronic that shifts quickly and smoothly and the quattro permanent four-wheel drive transfer the engine's power to the road.

The stiff S sport suspension lowers the body by 30 mm (1.18 in), and size 255/45 tires are mounted to the 20-inch wheels in five parallel spoke design. Audi can also deliver 21-inch diameter wheels and size 255/40 tires as an option. The black brake calipers on the front wheels are decorated with S badges. The Audi drive select dynamic handling system is standard.

Among the special design details, the platinum gray single-frame radiator grille with its galvanized dual struts in aluminum look, the roof spoiler and modified bumpers are especially eye-catching.

The exterior mirror housings are designed in an aluminum look; xenon plus headlights with LED daytime running lights are included as a standard feature, and the exhaust system dominates at the rear with four elliptical tailpipes. Audi also offers the optional crystal effect exterior colors Estoril Blue and Panther Black on the new top model.

The interior is designed in black, and a silver headlining is optional. The electrically adjustable sport seats are upholstered in Pearl Nappa leather and Alcantara, which are available in three colors. Trim panels consist of brushed aluminum, or CFRP, piano finish black or aluminum beaufort as options.

The scales of the instruments are gray, and their needles are white; the pedals and shift paddles glisten in an aluminum look. Features such as the S gear shift knob, S badges on the door sill trims, on the start button and on the specially shaped steering wheel, the S welcome screen and the light package accentuate the interior with special highlights.
